AMERICA AT LAST!
They came on ships from a-cross the sea with the dream of being free.___ And as they en-tered New York har-bor they saw the Sta-tue of Lib - er - ty. "Oh, she's beau-ti-ful! Oh, she's glo-ri-ous! they cried in a hap-py tone. Then they land-ed on El - lis Is-land, know-ing lib-er-ty had wel-comed them home. In the in - spec - tion hall with bag-gage and child-ren in their hands, they were greet-ed by strange sounds and shouts and friend-ly com-mands: "Stand o-ver here! Stand o-ver there! The doc-tor will ex-am-ine you!" And when they re-ceived land-ing cards, they knew their dream had come true. And some were go-ing to New York, and to New Jer-sey to stay. And some bought rail - road tick-ets to towns and ci-ties 'cross the U. S. A. and on the fer-ry to low-er Man - hat - tan their hearts beat so fast, as with joy they cried, "A-mer-i-ca at last! "A-mer-i-ca at last!
