Oh lit-tle town of Beth-le-hem
How still we__see thee lie!
A-bove thy deep and__dream-less__sleep
The si-lent stars__go by.
Yet__in thy dark-streets shin - eth
The__ev-er-last-ing light;
The hopes and fears of all the__years
Are met in__thee to-night.

Second Verse
For Christ if born of Ma - ry,
And ga-ther'd all a-bove,
While mor-tals sleep, the_an-gels__keep
Their watch of__won-d'ring love.
O___morn-ing stars, to - ge - ther
Pro-claim the ho-ly birth,
And prais-es sing to God the__King,
And peace to__men on earth.

Third Verse
How si-lent-ly, how si-lent-ly,
The won-drous gift is giv'n!
So God im-parts to hu-man hearts,
The bless-ings of his heav'n.
No ear may hear his com-ing;
But in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive him, still
The dear Christ en-ters in.

Fourth Verse
O ho-ly child of Beth-le-hem
Descend to us, we pray;
Cast out our sin and enter in,
Be born in us__to-day.
We hear the Christ-mas an-gels
The great glad tid-ings tell:
O come to us, abide with us,
Our Lord Emmanuel.
