BLUE VELVET

She wore blue vel-vet,
bluer than vel-vet was the night,
softer than satin was the light from the stars.____

She wore blue vel-vet,
blu-er than velvet were her eyes,
warmer than May her tender sighs,
love was ours._____

Ours, a love I held tight-ly,
feeling the rapture grow,
like a flame burning brightly, but when she left,
gone was the glow of blue vel - vet,
but in my heart there'll al-ways be,
precious and warm, a memory through the years__________
and I still can see blue vel - vet through my tears.
